According to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP), Vietnam’s seafood export turnover reached USD 2.45 billion in Q1/2025, marking a 26% increase compared to the same period in 2024. In March alone, exports reached nearly USD 889 million—up by almost 20%—indicating strong and sustained growth momentum.
This is a positive signal for Vietnam’s seafood industry, especially as global markets are recovering and consumer demand continues to rise. Key export items such as shrimp, pangasius, and squid remain strong in international markets.

– The strong growth indicates a positive recovery of Vietnam’s seafood industry after a challenging period.
– March marked a significant acceleration, with export value nearly matching that of the peak months of the year.
– This is a promising sign for the year’s export outlook, especially as major markets like the U.S., Japan, and the EU are showing signs of renewed demand.

– The product structure is relatively balanced, with no overdependence on a single item.
– High value-added categories such as squid, octopus, and tuna are gradually accounting for a larger share, reflecting a shift in exports toward higher value chains.

– The significant gap in growth rates between March and the entire first quarter reflects a more pronounced recovery trend when viewed from a longer-term perspective.

– A sign that the market is recovering well and starting to gain momentum by the end of the first quarter.
